Senior Test Engineer - Contract - Perth CBD

A leading mining company is looking for a self-motivated, independent, and passionate Senior Test Analyst to join a multi-disciplinary development team working on industry-leading mine automation solutions. This highly technical role involves working across both hardware and software systems.

While primarily based in Perth, you must be willing to undertake ad-hoc remote work, including one full swing onsite at Pilbara operations approximately once every six weeks. Potential site shifts: a combination of day on 8/6, or night shifts 7/7.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test technical and functional requirements for autonomy projects and programs.
  • Develop, review, and maintain test cases, scripts, reports, and plans.
  • Collaborate with development teams, product teams, customers, and key stakeholders to ensure testing aligns with technology requirements.
  • Identify and diagnose functionality errors and faults within systems, ensuring compliance with quality standards
  • Participate in issue reproduction, impact analysis, and resolution of defects found during testing.

Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience as a Software Tester or similar role.
  • Strong Linux/Unix background, as well as fluency in modern Windows environments.
  • Experience with Test and Defect Management tools and processes.
  • Understanding of various software delivery methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
  • Experience working with common message formats such as XML.
  • Experience testing client-side applications, hosted environments, and microservices architecture.
  • Test automation framework experience (desirable).
