
Software Engineer / Developer

Our client is currently seeking experienced Software Engineers (Developers) to join a dynamic and innovative team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile project within the ICT sector, offering the chance to work on complex and challenging tasks.
Overview of the Position:
The successful candidates will be engaged in a range of activities including the development of ICT solutions, support and enhancement of business systems, and contribution to systems design and implementation. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining and developing productive relationships with ICT teams and stakeholders, as well as supporting a development team to meet project outcomes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop ICT solutions in line with application and development standards and practices.
- Support, maintain, and enhance business systems.
- Contribute to systems design and implementation.
- Document all ICT-related activities to standard and in accordance with practices.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with other ICT teams and stakeholders.
- Identify and implement solutions that support the current and future direction of the agency.
- Participate in peer software reviews and perform unit and integration testing.
- Produce and maintain software development documentation under architectural guidelines.
- Implement and maintain best practices in software change management procedures.
- Interpret software and system requirements, providing work estimates and applying these to the development process.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and continuously improve the software development lifecycle.
Skills and Experience Required:
- 5+ years of experience working with Java and Spring Boot as a software engineer in the ICT industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working on large data projects and with technologies such as Elasticsearch/Solr, Kafka, NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in Javascript and frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
- Familiarity with technologies/frameworks like GraphQL, Nifi, Postgres, Neo4j, or IIR.
- Experience with Azure Cloud and Linux operating systems.
- Flexibility over the lifecycle of the procurement and a commitment to environmental sustainability.
