Opportunity
12-month contract with options to keep extending based in either Melbourne, Geelong, Canberra, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane or Perth for a large Commonwealth department.

Great opportunity for a Senior Solution or Domain Architect to plan and manage vendors and investment advice for digital transformations and solutions within private and public multi-cloud (AWS and Azure).

This is an opportunity to work within a nationally distributed team in Scheme Digital Platforms. This is a large, shared services and federated environment with tier-1 vendors and a team following Agile SAFe methodology and TOGAF architecture framework.

Duties

  • Deliver high quality domain architecture strategy and roadmaps and solutions
  • Engage with the business to understand strategic objectives and requirements.
  • Engage with the enterprise architects, solution leads, business representatives, development team and other relevant stakeholders to ensure solution alignment across domains.
  • Provide technical guidance, design and architecture pertaining to:
    • Deployment, environment configuration
    • Develop service requirements
    • Design logical network, logical service, logical server configuration
    • Design virtual execution environments across AWS and Azure private and public hosted environments
  • Ownership and accountability for leading and producing the delivery of coherent technical solutions across the domain
  • Represent the domain throughout all Architecture Governance Councils and Forums.

Success Measures

  • Minimum 5 years of Architecture experience with broad business and technical knowledge in public/private cloud services
  • Azure and/or AWS Architecture certifications
  • Experience working with Digital transformation teams (accessibility, service/UX design)
  • Public/private cloud deployment and security
  • Excellent listening, communication and stakeholder management skills, must be able to translate business capability into technical requirements.
  • Bachelor or higher in Information Technology or equivalent tertiary qualification
  • TOGAF / ZACHMAN certified or equivalent IT architectural qualification
  • SAFe Agile preferred, UML
  • Industry experience across health or insurance sectors, finance, claims systems, government, or other related industries with large customer base.

NOTE: The successful candidate will need to be an Australian Citizen and may be required to secure AGSVA Baseline clearance.
