Systems Administrator

• Initial contract until February 7th 2025 + potential for extensions
• Blackburn North Location + Working From Home Options (1 day in the office)

The Role:
This Government Agency is seeking a System Administrator to maintain the datacentre and servers for their MS & Windows systems/environment.

The Responsibilities:

• Support and enhance ICT server infrastructure operations in order to maintain a competitive service for the business.
• Provide second and third level support for infrastructure systems and services to meet agreed SLAs.
• Proactively performed demand management, capacity management and threshold management across server infrastructure, and recommend growth forecasts for management consideration.
• Design, installation and maintenance of server-based software, server and storage hardware and related peripherals.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering Team Leader and Manager Infrastructure to assess short and long-term systems capacity needs consistent with the organisations strategy.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Minimum 5 years experience operating as a Systems Administrator supporting Microsoft and Windows environments.
• Prior experience in managing on-premise workloads, a traditional Windows System Administrator. Azure cloud experience favourable.

• Experience in windows system administration in a complex and large environment, managing approximately 400 servers and 10000 users.

• Extensive experience in antivirus management and antivirus deployment. Ideally Microsoft defender, CrowdStrike and Cylance
• Extensive management experience in VMware.
