Systems Analyst | Data & Integration

Location: Canberra, ACT (Hybrid/Remote)

Security Clearance: Baseline Security Clearance

Contract Length: 3 months (with possible extension)

We are seeking an experienced Systems Analyst with expertise in data analysis, system integration, and API modelling to support critical government initiatives. This role requires strong analytical skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to work within Agile teams to improve reporting capabilities and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities of the position:

  • Analyze and document business processes, data requirements, and system integration workflows.
  • Develop and optimize data models to support system interoperability.
  • Support system architects and developers in implementing data integration and exchange standards.
  • Facilitate workshops to gather business data requirements and define technical specifications.
  • Work within Agile delivery teams to align technical solutions with business needs.
  • Provide detailed reporting and insights by identifying trends and tracking performance.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Systems Analyst in ICT-based projects.
  • Strong background in data and API modelling/integration.
  • Proficiency in relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL, and SQL Server.
  • Experience working with stakeholders to design and implement large-scale data solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Previous experience in an Australian Federal Government setting is preferred.
