
Veeam Backup and Recovery Specialist
Our client, a leading global organisation, is seeking a Veeam Backup Specialist for a 6-month contract position based in Auckland CBD. This role offers hybrid working for Auckland-based candidates and our client is also open to remote NZ based workers who work well autonomously. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, implement, and support backup and recovery solutions, with a focus on Veeam Backup technologies.
- Resolve and continue unfinished tasks related to core infrastructure backup and cloud services within infrastructure projects for a customer, including managing backups for M365, mailboxes, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Adjust how data backups are stored in Azure and AWS ensuring they are secure and meet the customer’s requirements. Set up special storage areas for the customer’s production and non-production data, using different layers of storage in Azure and AWS, including some storage solutions that are yet to be created. Set up backup jobs for different types of servers and systems, including Windows and Linux.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backup-related issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions. Provide expertise in storage and infrastructure management to ensure seamless integration and support for backup technologies.
- Collaborate with internal teams and directly with the customer to complete outstanding tasks and ensure smooth operation.
Key Skills and Experience:
- 4-5 years of experience working with backup technologies, with a strong understanding of backup strategies and technologies.
- 2+ years of substantial experience with Veeam services.
- Familiarity with on-premises and cloud infrastructure management and proven expertise in storage and infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills, capable of dealing with IT managers and executive-level personnel to effectively convey technical concepts and solutions.
- Confident working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
