The Windows Engineers’ primary role is to actively contribute to the Windows Infrastructure team, who have the responsibility for the support of all windows servers, desktops and laptops hosted or managed by the business. The Windows Engineer is responsible for work including analysis, support, advice, implementation, maintenance, and quality assurance, which must be completed in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, administration and optimization of Windows infrastructure
  • Ensuring the availability of the infrastructure for the systems and applications used, 24×7 support and problem resolution and continuous system health monitoring
  • Ensuring the physical security, integrity and safety of these Infrastructure components
  • Physical and virtual server builds and configuration changes and physical installation of Windows servers in the Data Centres
  • Capacity and performance monitoring and planning and tuning of the infrastructure
  • Forward planning for the release of new versions of products in the Windows space
  • Testing and implementation of replacement Windows and Virtualisation technology versions and vendor supplied patches.

Main Skills

  • Windows Server – currently on Windows 2016 – any new servers being built are done in 2022, planning to upgrade servers.
  • VMware
  • O365/Exchange online
  • Azure environment
  • Mainly BAU and some Projects as they come along
  • Looking for someone with 3 – 5 years of experience.
