OpenStack Engineer
Due to a busy period, our federal government client is seeking an OpenStack Engineer with Negative Vetting 1 security clearance. This role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure and services based on the OpenStack cloud computing platform.
- 12 month contract plus 2×12 month extensions
- Melbourne location, hybrid work from home
- Open rates negotiable
The role:
Responsibilities will include:
- Building and implementing Private cloud infrastructure solutions, including compute, storage, and networking components
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues with Private Cloud infrastructure and services
- Automating infrastructure deployment and management using tools such as Ansible and Satellite
- Developing and maintaining custom scripts and tools to streamline operational tasks
- Performing capacity planning and performance tuning for private cloud-based infrastructure
- Collaborating with other teams, OpenShift, Data Centre Facilities Management, application and monitoring teams
- Providing technical guidance and support to others
To apply for the role, you will need the following:
- Extensive experience as a Systems Engineer or similar with strong OpenStack and Linux administration experience
- Solid experience with Red Hat Ansible, Red Hat Satellite, and Python programming
- Experience with Software defined networking, Object Storage and Ceph Block Storage
- Experience in a large, complex ICT environment
- Must have an NV1 security clearance
This will be a 12-month contract with options for another 24-month extension working in a hybrid work arrangement from their Melbourne CBD office location. **NOTE. Only candidates with NV1 Clearnce will be shortlisted.
