
EL1 Lead Actuary
The opportunity
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for multiple EL1 Lead Actuarial Analysts to join the team.
12-month initial contract with opportunity for extension.
Competitive daily rates up to $1100 including superannuation (Dependent on experience – 5 years minimum), with the option to be based out of Richmond or Geelong.
Hybrid working environment, consisting of two days working from home, with the remaining 3 on site each week.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing, leading, managing, and taking responsibility for deliverables of data analysis, policy proposal briefs, and key stakeholder management as the assistant director
- Producing and communicating detailed technical, professional, and policy advice on complex problems to internal and external stakeholders
- Researching and implementing innovative techniques and interdisciplinary methods to solve business issues
- Designing statistical, mathematical, and various data science models to conduct analytical work that addresses business issues, NDIA initiatives, and the development of new products for the NDIA and the NDIS
- Collaborating across teams, building relationships within ADA and other stakeholders, including Agency Policy Branch, Home and Living, Legal teams, Service Design, Office of CIO, etc.
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing, and presenting the outcomes of work undertaken, tailored to context and stakeholders.
Technical skills
- Python & R scripting & development skills
- Extensive experience of commonly used Python & R
- Libraries/packages (e.g. for Python: NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, spacy, ntlk)
- AWS/Azure – CLI & SDK development
- Gitlabs, Jenkins, Azure DevOps/other pipeline development
- Docker, Kubernetes
- Exposure/working knowledge of bash scripts, Make files Methodical and process driven.
