A prestigious Financial Services provider is seeking a Network Engineer with advanced MPLS and solid exposure to Data Centre environments to join their team on a permanent basis.

Joining a dynamic, close-knit team, you will provide support of the network connectivity of a large number of external clients who connect to their systems via gateways and various products / services. Leveraging your solid networking background, your main responsibilities will include monitoring and responding to alerts, troubleshooting network access issues, installing / configuring network devices on client sites and/or data centres as well as updating patches and delivering new services for clients.

This position will suit candidates with excellent customer service skills, superior troubleshooting skills coupled with an ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications with relevant industry certifications (i.e. CCNA)
  • Proven network engineering experience (routers, switches, firewalls) with strong knowledge of various network Layer 2 / Layer 3 protocols (MPLS, BGP, OSFP, TCP/IP etc)
  • Solid experience working in a data centre environment including installing new network devices, racking / stacking, cabling and experience with dark fibre etc
  • Previous experience in a Field Services capacity or visiting client sites
  • Understanding of ITSM
  • Exceptional customer service and stakeholder engagement skills combined with strong communication skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Please note this position is based in their office close to North Sydney and requires you to be in the office at least three days per week on a rotating shift of 7am – 3:30pm, 10am – 6:30pm or 1pm – 9:30pm.
