We are currently seeking a Full-Stack Web Developer for a not-for-profit organisation based in Milton, Brisbane, for a permanent opportunity. This role will design, create and maintain functional, interactive Sitecore and PHP/Drupal websites and applications while ensuring their ongoing performance, security, and usability. The position requires adherence to yourtown development security and compliance standards and meeting the SLA’s and KPI’s of the organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain both front-end and back-end components of web applications, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across the entire stack.
• Create custom Sitecore components, templates, layouts, and workflows, ensuring optimal integration with other systems and third-party applications.
• Implement and optimize the integration of Sitecore with other systems and third-party applications.
• This position involves participation in rostered on-call responsibilities
• Lead technical design and architecture discussions to create innovative solutions to complex problems. Mentor team members and advocate for best practices.

Coding and Development:

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using industry best practices.
• Implement new features and enhancements based on project requirements.
• Support and maintain existing and new web applications

Sitecore Management:

• Collaborate with the tech team and business stakeholders to create and maintain responsive and user-friendly web applications.
• Develop, test, and deploy Sitecore components, templates, layouts, and workflows.
• Ensure the seamless integration of Sitecore with other systems and third-party applications.
• Manage and support Sitecore solutions

Front-End Development:

• Develop, implement and maintain user interfaces using React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate design mockups into functional web pages.

Back-End Development:

• Work on server-side logic and database integration.
• Utilize server-side languages such as Node.js, Python, or PHP to build robust and scalable back-end systems.
• Implement and maintain APIs for seamless communication between the front-end and back-end.

Testing and Debugging:

• Conduct thorough testing of applications to identify and fix bugs, bottlenecks, and ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to implement automated testing procedures.

Continuous Learning:

• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
• Actively participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Demonstrate an understanding of and meet the requirements of the position and all performance expectations including:
• Maintaining currency of knowledge with regards to relevant legislation, professional practice and emerging trends to ensure advice is current and effective.
• Participating in other duties and cross-functional teams as may be required, in order to achieve efficient and effective yourtown services.
• Participating in and meeting the expectations as agreed pursuant to the Organisational Performance Framework.
• From time to time assist in other locations and travel intrastate, or interstate, as required.

Essential knowledge, skills, abilities:

• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent studies/experience in Computer Science, Web Development, software engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience building and deploying full-stack web applications, with expertise in modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks like Sitecore, React, and Node.js.
• Proficiency in designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs, with knowledge of API best practices and standards.
• Expertise with relational databases, including complex schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Strong experience with client-side JavaScript frameworks like HTML, CSS, React.js, and backend JavaScript technologies including Node and Express.js.
• Strong Sitecore development skills and experience with PHP and its various frameworks.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, Express, Django).
• Extensive experience deploying to and managing cloud architectures, especially Microsoft Azure, with a deep understanding of microservices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
• Strong Agile development experience, with the ability to work under pressure with shifting priorities in a dynamic, agile work environment.
